The staff members and the students of Don Bosco College came together on 14^th August 2017 to pay homage to Lt. Th Adin Rongmei, Lab Attendant, Physics Department – Don Bosco College, Tura who passed away on 12^th August 2017.

The family members of Late Adin Rongmei were also present at the memorial service. Fr. George Plathottam, Rector Don Bosco College spoke of the dedication and commitment of Mr. Adin. “Mr. Adin sacrificed his time and energy for the college. He is always there when the college needed him. He will always be the first to lend a hand during the sports activities of the college,” Fr. George said. “The college will really miss a dedicated person in Mr. Adin,” Fr. George added.

Dr. Arindom Ghosh, Head Department of Physics spoke of the love that the department and the students have for Mr. Adin. “No one can replace the dedication and self sacrificing spirit that Late Mr. Adin had towards the department.” He recounted the days when he himself was the student of the department and how Mr. Adin helped him in the physics lab. Others who recounted the experiences were Mrs. Lilybell Ch. Marak, Mr. Siddhartha Roy, Mr. Hilarius Ch. Momin and a student representative.

Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal recalled the last meeting that Late Mr. Adin Rongmei attended. “In the last meeting held one day before his demise, Late Mr. Adin suggested that a basketball match should be organized between the staff and the students. In the meeting he said that he would also be in the team to play the match. He never got a chance to play the game for God has a bigger game for him to play,” Fr. Bivan said.

Flower tribute was paid to the portrait of Late Mr. Adin Rongmei by the staff members and the students of the college. The family members of Late Adin Rongmei too paid floral tribute.
