Two Day International Web Conference on Recent Advances in Science organised by Don Bosco College, Tura

The Don Bosco College at Tura hosted a two day Web Conference on Recent Advances in Science organised by the Department of Physics and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Don Bosco College, Tura on 30 – 31st July 2020.

The web conference started with the Inaugural Programme on the first day. Rev Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal welcomed the Chief Patron of the conference Rev Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, Assam, the patrons of the conference  Shri Ram Singh IAS, Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills – Meghalaya and Prof. G. Singaiah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, North Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus. He also welcomed Prof. Nikme S C Momin, Head of Dept. of Education, NEHU Tura, Campus, Tura, Meghalaya and all those who spoke at this inaugural programme

Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya spoke and wished the conference a success.

Rev Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, the Chief Patron in his speech congratulated Don Bosco College, Tura for organising the web conference. Shri Ram Singh IAS, Deputy Commissioner thanked the college for the web conference and congratulated that a college in Tura could organise such a programme. He wished every participants success. Prof Nikme S. C Momin, in her speech thanked the Don Bosco College for giving her opportunity to share the vision she had in higher education and in the fields of science in particular.

There are altogether 1391 participants from 17 countries covering four continents of the world. In the first technical session, there were 11 speakers and two guest lecturers who presented papers on various topics. In the second technical sessions, there are altogether 40 paper presenters. This web conference in advances in science was the hard work of the physics department of Don Bosco College. Tura along with the collaboration from the district administration, West Garo Hills, Turr Meghalaya and the Treasury Officer, West Garo Hills Meghalaya.
