Don Bosco College, Tura – NSS Unit Commemorates Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Don Bosco College, Tura, Meghalaya, organized a special programme on April 14, 2025, at Bosco Hall to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. The event was chaired by NSS volunteer Dunagam C. Marak, who initiated the proceedings and invited two fellow volunteers to present a heartfelt prayer song.
Mr Ferick Salnang D. Sangma, Asst Professor and NSS Programme Officer, delivered a warm welcome address, extending heartfelt greetings to the Principal, Vice Principal, faculty members, and students for their presence and support.
The highlight of the event was an inspiring speech by Rev. Fr Januarius S. Sangma, Principal of Don Bosco College. He paid tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, acknowledging his legacy as the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and a tireless advocate for the rights of the marginalized, particularly the Scheduled Castes. Fr Principal emphasized the relevance of Ambedkar’s vision in today's society and urged NSS volunteers and students to actively participate in noble causes for the betterment of the community.
As a symbolic gesture of unity and shared values, NSS volunteer Pangkam B. Marak led the recitation of the Preamble to the Constitution, reaffirming the collective commitment to justice, liberty, and equality.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kimde Ch. Momin, who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal for the opportunity to organize the event and acknowledged the contributions of all participants.
