INTER-CLASS CULTURAL DANCE COMPETITION 2025

The college organized the Inter–Class Cultural Dance Competition on 3rd April 2025, which was held in the college amphitheater. The competition displayed vibrant cultural diversity through different traditional dance forms. The event showcased the beauty of cultural expression through movement and rhythm bringing together talented dancers from the college. The competition featured groups of students from various semesters representing various cultural backgrounds ranging from Mizo ‘Cheraw’ dance, Spanish ‘Flamenco’ dance to traditional A.chik ‘Wangala’ dance and many more, providing a wide range of performances.
The competition commenced with short welcome programme for the judges. The Principal of the college Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma gave the welcome address and did the honor of felicitating the judges. Saying that “Education is not only a preparation for life, but is life itself”, he exhorted the students to learn to be leaders, to work in a team, learn the art of public speaking and appreciate variety”. The competition featured a series of stunning performances, each showcasing unique choreography, music, and costume design. The participants captivated audience with their precision and grace.
The competition was judged by a distinguished panel of judges. Their criteria focused on creativity, technique, cultural representation, and overall performance.
The competition concluded with an awards ceremony, where the winners received special gifts and certificates. The first position in the competition was bagged by B.A 6th semester students. The second position was secured by 2nd Semester (Science) students and the third position was secured by 4th Semester students (Arts).
The Inter-class Cultural Dance Competition was a remarkable success, fostering appreciation for cultural diversity and power of dance as an expression.
