The Department of Economics organized a seminar for the honours students

The Department of Economics organized a seminar for the honours students of the department on 2.4.2025 in Bosco Hall at 11.30 AM.

The seminar was inaugurated by Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Principal of the college. He spoke about the benefits of the seminar which help them to improve knowledge, leadership, public speaking skill and team spirit.

The head of the department Mr. Siddhartha Roy in his speech encouraged the students to take part in such academic activities which will help to develop their confidence and leadership quality. 

The seminar aimed at acquainting the students with new areas of knowledge and updating them about the latest technological developments, developing a sense of belonging, boosting a sense of self confidence and team spirit.

The students of 2nd, 4th and 6th semester presented ten papers on the following topics:

  1. ECONOMIC INEQUALITY IN INDIA AND ITS CONSEQUENCES.
  2. ECONOMIC EVOLUTION UNLEASHED: THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE.
  3. IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON GLOBAL ECONOMY.
  4. TOURISM IN MEGHALAYA.
  5. ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION AND BIODIVERSITY PRESERVATION.
  6. FROM CRISES TO GROWTH: ECONOMIC REFORMS OF 1991.
  7. INDIA'S ECONOMIC OUTLOOK 2025: CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES.
  8. DIGITAL INDIA MOVEMENT.
  9. FOREIGN TRADE IN INDIA OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS.
  10. THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN INDIAN ECINOMY.

 

Two students of the 4th semester Ringanchi C Marak and Silsrame Ch Marak helped in anchoring the programme.

The seminar was a success and all the students participated with great enthusiasm.
