The 22nd October 2024 was another small but sure

The 22nd October 2024 was another small but sure step forward for Don Bosco College, Tura towards cultural integration with formal education as two of its teachers -Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, (Associate Professor) and Dr. Colnat B. Marak (Assistant Professor) participated in the The Forgotten Folklore Project (TFFP) Summit held at Shillong. The two professors had contributed pieces of folk lore and resource materials, respectively,  in the preceding year.

 

The TFFP Summit was a day set aside to celebrate the achievemnets of the forgotten folklore project initiated by Sauramandala and to acknowledge the contributions of each collaborator and resource persons.

 

It was a gala event of authors and contributors of folklore, along with resource persons, animators, translators, etc. The Programme was hosted in the breathtaking “Windermere Resort” at Umpling, Shillong. The event was enriched by informal interactions among the guests, screening of animated folklores, especially “Maijingjing” by Mikhail Ch. Marak from Tura and story reading to the guests in general and children in particular.
