Mr Dominic Megam Sangma, a filmmaker who had gained international repute

Mr Dominic Megam Sangma, a filmmaker who had gained international repute  for his film “Rapture” (Rimdogittanga), who graduated from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, India, specializing in Direction and Screenplay Writing had an enriching interaction with the students of Don Bosco College, Tura on 15 July 2024. The students were overjoyed to meet him in person in the college auditorium and this face to face encounter with the world renowned personality motivated them much.  Dominic's first feature film Ma·ama became the first Garo film to win a National Award. His second feature film “Rapture” became a huge success in the film festival. It was world premiered In the Locarno Film Festival. It won the Best Cultural Diversity award in the Asian Pacific Screen Awards in Brisbane Australia, won NETPAC Award in MAMI, Mumbai, and won Honourable Mention Award in Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. He was on Juries for the Indian Panorama, IFFI, and Guwahati International Short Film and Documentary Film Festival; he was also on a Preview Committee for the International Film Festival of India. He was selected in Berlinale Talents 2020.
