Inauguration of Annual College Week 2024.
The Annual Boscoans Week of Don Bosco College, Tura was inaugurated on 11th March 2024ushering in exhilarating atmosphere and enthusiastic ambience. The expansive college Amphitheatre served as the venue for the function. The proceedings of the auspicious day commenced with the arrival of the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Dara Aswaghosh, Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, Tura. The Chief Guest unfurled the Boscoan Week flag signalling the Week-long activities. The College Choir led the College Anthem displaying unity and loyalty.
The sports torch which symbolizes peace and harmony was carried by the torch bearers JumesaSangma and Brilliant Marak. Receiving the torch, the cauldron was then lit by the SWA President Harsh Vardhan Chetry. The lighting of the Cauldron was followed by the Oath taking ceremony led by the Principal. The students pledged to participate in the College Week competitions in a spirit of fair play and true sportsmanship. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal of the College welcomed the gathering and also felicitated the Chief Guest.
The students of B.Sc entertained the gathering through their song sending the message of oneness and unity- which proved truly apt for the occasion. The program further proceeded with the mesmerizing performance by the students of B.A 6th Semester Section-B (Shift-II), winners of the Inter-Class Cultural Dance Competition. The Chief Guest for the occasion delivered a motivating speech underscoring the significance of sports in our lives. His words ignited the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play that would pervade the day. The Chief Guest then declared the Boscoans Week as opened marking the commencement of the Boscoans Week.
As the event concludes, Silkame Valencia N Arengh extended her gratitude and appreciation towards everyone who played a pivotal role in making the program a resounding success. Finally, the Opening Ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
