International Mother Language Day.

The Department of Garo, Don Bosco College, Tura collaborated with A•chik Literature Society and Department of Garo, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Tura to celebrate the International Mother Language Day today, the 21st February 2024.

The celebration was graced by Mrs. Viola Kathleen G. Momin, retired lecturer of Tura Government College as the Chief Guest. She spoke on the importance and significance of mother tongue and the need to speak correctly. Other speakers were Mrs. I. R. Sangma, Retired I AS officer, Dr. Dokatchi Ch. Marak and Dr. Jacqueline R. Marak.

A number of teachers and many students read out their poems, and a few of them presented papers and read out translated works.
