College Students [Bosco Ranggore Cultural Club] mesmerize audience with Wangala Performance at 5th Meghalaya Games Opening Ceremony.
In a stunning display of cultural prowess, students from Don Bosco College [Bosco Ranggore Cultural Club] part at the opening ceremony of the 5th Meghalaya Games held at the PA Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre. The highlight of their performance was the traditional Garo dance form, Wangala, which captivated the audience and set the tone for the much-anticipated sporting event.
The group of students had been preparing for weeks to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Garo community through their mesmerizing Wangala performance. The intricate dance moves, vibrant costumes, and rhythmic beats created an atmosphere of celebration and unity at the stadium, leaving the audience in awe.
Prior to their stellar performance, the students were accommodated at the Asibra field from January 13th to 15th, 2024. This provided them with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural ambiance and bond with fellow performers.
One of the students, expressed excitement about the chance to meet dancers from different parts of Garo Hills. "It was a fantastic experience to interact with fellow performers and learn about the diverse dance traditions within our own community. The cultural exchange was truly enriching."
The 5th Meghalaya Games opening ceremony, brought together athletes, spectators, and performers to create an unforgettable spectacle that will be remembered for years to come.
