Industry Leaders Share Insights on Skill Development and AI Integration.

 

In a concerted effort to empower students with contemporary skills and insights, North Eastern Hill University's Tura Campus organized a Career Development Workshop for first-semester students on November 28, 2023. The event, held in collaboration with UPAY NGO, aimed to provide valuable insights into skill development and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) for career growth.

The workshop, organized by the MSW Department, featured distinguished resource persons, Mr. Rohit Lal, Director of Skyllme and former Vice President of Citi Bank, and Mr. Krunal Kalbende, CEO of Investo and an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. Both speakers, also alumni of prestigious institutions such as IIM Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur, brought a wealth of experience to guide and inspire the students.

Mr. Lal shared his expertise on navigating the corporate landscape, drawing on his extensive experience in the financial sector. He emphasized the importance of a skilled workforce in the current industrial scenario and how staying abreast of contemporary technologies enhances employability and productivity.

Mr. Kalbende, a startup enthusiast and international speaker in AI research, delved into the world of artificial intelligence and its applications in various industries. His session aimed to equip students with insights into leveraging AI for personal and professional growth in an increasingly tech-driven world.

The workshop was attended by first-semester students from Shift 1, eager to absorb the knowledge shared by the industry leaders. Accompanying the students was Sir Jesterfield D. Sangma from the Department of Political Science (Shift 1), who facilitated the students' participation and engagement during the workshop.

The collaborative effort between NEHU Tura Campus, UPAY NGO, and industry experts highlights the commitment to preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern workforce. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, such initiatives contribute to the holistic development of students, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
