Galilee Trail 2023: A Cultural Odyssey for Students from Across India.

Eight students from Don Bosco College, Tura, left an indelible mark at the Galilee Trail 2023, held at Siloam, Umiam, from the 21st to the 27th of October 2023. This week-long educational program brought together a total of 110 college students from various regions including the NorthEast, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu.

The event proved to be a melting pot of knowledge and experiences, as participants engaged in dynamic interactive sessions led by a diverse group of resource persons. These sessions covered a wide array of subjects, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.

A poignant moment in the program was the interactive sessions with the students of the Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre. This special school caters to challenged students, offering them specialized education and support. The exchange of ideas and experiences was both heartwarming and enlightening, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and empathy.

The visit to the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures (DBCIC) in Shillong was a cultural revelation for the students. This center serves as a repository of the rich and diverse heritage of the indigenous communities in the region. The participants immersed themselves in the vibrant tapestry of traditions, crafts, and histories that define the NorthEast.

Apart from DBCIC, the students explored various other notable locations in Shillong, further deepening their appreciation for the cultural mosaic that is Northeast India.
