College Principals of Garo Hills convene to Discuss PM-USHA Project for Education Revamp.

 

In a significant stride towards bolstering higher education in the state of Meghalaya, the College played host to a crucial gathering of college principals from Garo Hills on September 8, 2023. The meeting was convened by the Directorate of Higher Technical Education (DHTE), Shillong, with the aim of elucidating the intricacies of the PM-USHA project initiated by the Central Government.

 

The session, chaired by Shri Ambrose Ch Marak, IAS, Secretary Department of Education and Director of Higher and Technical Education (DHTE), delved into the comprehensive roadmap envisioned by the government to enhance the educational landscape across the state.

 

Shri Rangksan Mawroh, Principal Consultant at the Office of the State Project Directorate, RUSA, DHTE, Government of Meghalaya, took center stage to galvanize the assembled principals. Mawroh passionately articulated the pressing need for colleges to actively pursue grants offered by the Central Government. These grants, earmarked for infrastructural development, hold the potential to uplift the standard of education across the state.

 

During the session, Mawroh also shed light on the state government's strategic plan to bring about a transformative shift in the educational scenario of Meghalaya. The blueprint encompasses a multi-pronged approach, aiming to revitalize not only physical infrastructure but also the quality of pedagogy and research facilities available to students.

 

Addressing the attendees, Shri Ambrose Ch Marak emphasized the pivotal role of higher education institutions in shaping the future of the state. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between colleges and government bodies in order to realize the collective vision of an empowered and globally competitive Meghalaya.

 

The meeting concluded on an optimistic note, with principals expressing their commitment to actively engage with the PM-USHA project and tap into the resources made available by the Central Government.
