Catholic Professors from the College engage in Inspirational Seminar to Revitalize Catholic Engagement.
In a significant event the Catholic professors from Don Bosco College, Tura, participated in a one-day seminar organized by the Tura Diocese. The seminar, themed "Revitalizing Clergy, Religious and Laity," took place on the 19th of August, 2023, at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Walbakgre, Tura.
The event attracted a substantial turnout of Catholic government officers, lawyers, professors, doctors, and other professionals who actively embraced the opportunity to discuss and enhance their roles within the Church and society. The seminar's organization was focused on nurturing the engagement and leadership of these individuals, acknowledging their unique positions to make a positive impact on both the Church and the public sector.
Structured into three distinct sessions, the seminar encompassed a range of topics pertinent to contemporary challenges and opportunities. Each session featured a respected expert who shared insights, fostering dynamic discussions and interactive engagement.
The first session, titled "Communities in Transition," was led by Most Reverend Thomas Menamparampil, Archbishop Emeritus of Guwahati. His thought-provoking lecture delved into the evolving nature of communities and their adaptability in an ever-changing world. Participants were captivated by his wisdom and experience, contributing to vibrant interactions and follow-up questions.
Dr. Ronald Anil Fernandez, a distinguished member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission, took the stage during the second session. His presentation, "Integrating Faith and Ethics in Public Service," resonated deeply with the attendees, who explored the practical aspects of harmonizing their spiritual values with their roles in the public sector.
The third session, "Advancing Lay Leadership and Participation in Church," was conducted by Dr. Fr. Paul Pudussery CSC. His expertise in this area provided invaluable guidance on how lay individuals could take on more prominent roles within the Church's hierarchy. This session ignited fervent discussions on how the laity could play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the Church.
