The Don Bosco College Alumni Association hosted an unforgettable Alumni Get-together on August 18, 2023. The event brought together former students from across generations to relive cherished memories, rekindle friendships, and celebrate the enduring spirit of togetherness.
The Alumni Association orchestrated an enchanting evening with the primary aim of connecting past students, fostering camaraderie, and building lasting relationships. The event's theme was all about walking down memory lane while embracing the excitement of the present. The organizers extended an enthusiastic invitation to all alumni, offering free registration to make attendance more accessible and inclusive.
A highlight of the evening was the electrifying live performance by "Sami and the Band," a renowned musical group hailing from Tura, in the West Garo Hills. The band's melodious tunes resonated with the attendees, taking them on a journey through their college years. The musical interlude proved to be a fitting tribute to the shared experiences and bonds formed at Don Bosco College.
Among the speakers were Principal Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, and Ms. Dimse A. Sangma, ADC of East Garo Hills. Each speaker imparted their wisdom, sharing insights and anecdotes that illuminated the college's legacy. One of the primary focuses of the event was to inform the alumni about an impending NAAC visit to the college, emphasizing the significance of their continued involvement.
In his welcoming address, Principal Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim recounted the visionary ideals of the college's founders. He praised their commitment to elevating education in the Garo Hills region and spoke of the remarkable journey that has led to the college's current stature. Fr. Mukhim expressed his hope that the alumni would stay connected with their Alma Mater and be agents of positive change in society.
