Certificate Course on A.chik Folk Art (CAFA) Inaugurated
The Certificate Course on A.chik Folk Art (CAFA), Don Bosco College, Tura inaugurated it's Session 2023 today, the 12th August 2023. The Course is being run jointly by English and Garo Departments under the auspices of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College. Prof. Dwijen Sharma, Head, Department of English, NEHU, Tura Campus, Tura graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He spoke about folk art in general and encouraged those present not only to take up activities but also work towards sustaining them. The keynote address was given by Dr. Barbara S. Sangma who took the students and those present through a lengthy discussion on folk art and craft. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal congratulated the concerned departments for their dedication towards preservation and dissemination of A.chik Folk Art. He assured his full support and cooperation for CAFA.
The Programme was enlivened by a number of A.chik Folk songs sung by various groups of students. Earlier, Dr. Colnat B. Marak, Coordinator of CAFA gave the Introductory Speech where he explained about the purpose and syllabus of CAFA. The programme was skilfully conducted by Ms. Anita Ch. Momin Assistant Professor, Department of Garo and the Vote of Thanks was given by Ms. Christina D. Sangma
