Freshers' Social Ushers in a Vibrant Start for Batch 2023-2027
In a display of enthusiasm and camaraderie, the Freshers' Social for the students of batch 2023-2027 took place on Saturday, August 5th, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. The College Amphitheatre came alive with vibrant performances and inspiring speeches, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey for the incoming students.
The event kicked off on a melodious note with a captivating welcome song performed by the Commerce Students from the 3rd and 5th semesters. Their harmonious voices set the tone for an eventful day ahead, capturing the attention and hearts of the audience.
Amidst the sea of new faces, the Student Welfare Association (SWA) President took to the stage to extend a warm welcome to the freshers. "Today marks the beginning of a remarkable chapter in your lives," the SWA President addressed the incoming students. "Embrace the college experience, forge friendships, and participate in various activities to make the most of your time here."
Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, the Principal, graced the occasion with an inspiring speech. He urged the new students to be committed to their studies and attend classes regularly. "Your presence in the classroom and dedication to your studies will pave the way for academic excellence," Fr Mukhim emphasized.
The Principal also stressed the importance of utilizing the College's resources, with a special emphasis on the library. "The library is not just a repository of books, but a treasure trove of knowledge waiting to be explored," he said. "Spend time there, immerse yourselves in the world of books, and expand your horizons."
Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, the IQAC Coordinator, took the podium to enlighten the freshers about the plethora of opportunities available to them during their college journey. She encouraged them to embrace change and adapt to new experiences, highlighting that missed opportunities might lead to regrets in the future.
Representing the staff of the college, Dr. Arindam Ghosh expressed heartfelt wishes to the newcomers. "Your pursuit of knowledge begins now," he remarked, "and we, the staff, are here to guide and support you in every step of this exciting journey."
The celebrations continued with delightful performances by students from the First, Third, and Fifth Semesters, showcasing their creativity and talents. The audience was treated to a medley of dance, music, and drama, which added a sense of joy and unity to the event.
At the conclusion of the program, Jeremiah D. Sangma, a member of SWA, presented a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the Freshers' Social.
As the formalities came to an end, the college amphitheater transformed into a dance floor, allowing all the students to let loose and celebrate freely. Laughter, cheers, and the rhythm of music echoed through the campus, cementing the newfound friendships and bonds among the batch of 2023-2027.
