NSS Volunteers Embark on a Memorable Journey to NorthEast NSS Festival in Aizawl, Mizoram
Seventeen enthusiastic volunteers from Don Bosoc College, Tura recently embarked on a transformative journey to attend the NorthEast NSS Festival held at Pachhunga University College in Aizawl, Mizoram. The five-day event, which took place from 13th to 17th June 2023, provided the students with invaluable learning opportunities and unforgettable experiences.
The volunteers, accompanied by their fellow students from William Carey University, Shillong, and ICFAI University, Meghalaya, set off from their college on the evening of 11th June 2023. The journey began with a vibrant sense of anticipation as they embarked on a cross-state adventure to the captivating city of Aizawl.
Upon arrival, the volunteers were welcomed with open arms by the hospitable hosts at Pachhunga University College. The festival, designed to promote community service and foster social responsibility, offered an array of activities and workshops centered around the theme of National Service Scheme (NSS) "Not Me, But You”
Over the course of five days, the NSS volunteers actively participated in various workshops, discussions, and hands-on projects. They engaged in interactive sessions focused on sustainable development, environmental conservation, and social welfare initiatives. These sessions were conducted by renowned experts and professionals in their respective fields.
One of the highlights of the festival was the opportunity for the volunteers to collaborate with students from different colleges and universities. This cross-pollination of ideas and experiences allowed for a rich exchange of knowledge and cultural diversity. The volunteers seized this chance to build lasting friendships and forge strong networks for future collaborations.
Aside from the academic aspect, the students also had the chance to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture and natural beauty of Mizoram. They explored the local attractions, sampled the delicious regional cuisine, and experienced the warm hospitality of the local community.
As the festival drew to a close on 17th June 2023, the NSS volunteers bid farewell to their newfound friends and mentors at Pachhunga University College. Reflecting on their experiences, the students expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity to participate in such an enriching event.
On 19th June 2023, the volunteers returned to their college, brimming with enthusiasm and a renewed sense of purpose. Their participation in the NorthEast NSS Festival had not only broadened their horizons but also instilled in them a deep commitment to community service and social responsibility.
