Excursion to Nokrek National Park
On 19th December 2022, the students of BA Economics Semesters 3 and 5 went on a study tour to Nokrek National Park to study about the ecological and economic significance of the region. A total of thirty three students and three teachers took part in the tour.
Being one of the bio-diverse hotspots, a vast range of flora and fauna is found in Nokrek National Park. During the tour, the students visited some of the renowned areas of the region. The main objective of the tour was to make the students learn about the Socio-Economic characteristics and the ecological significance of the region. The objective was to visit the orange plantation at Daibokgre, trek Nokrek Peak to witness the rare citrus plant known as Me’mang Narang (Citus Indica), visit Bong A’pal, and the place where the Simsang river originates, and trek till Matcha Nokpante Cliff.
The Study tour began at 11:00 a.m. and it concluded at 5:00 p.m. The students had a wonderful time exploring the region with the help of the guide. The students were able to study and gather valuable information about the significance of such National Parks.
