Department Seminar: Department of Education
The Departmental Seminar is one of the most important programs conducted by the Department of Education in the given academic year. This year, the Department of Education, Don Bosco College, Tura organized a one day Departmental Seminar on “The Role of Tourism on Poverty Alleviation in the state of Meghalaya” on the 20th of October, 2022 in Bosco Hall. The program started at 9:45 am with the welcome address by Arnab Aditya Dutta, 5th Semester.
Opening remarks were given by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal. Fr. Principal highlighted the importance of holding the departmental seminar and also acquainted the audience with the role that tourism can play in the economic development of the state.
Dr. Uma Roy Bhowmik, the Head of Department of Education, talked about the need for the seminar on the said topic as Meghalaya is a diverse and a unique state of the Union of India and it has a lot to offer to the domestic as well as inbound tourist.
