DBC observes World Investor Week 2022

As part of the observing of the ‘World Investor Week 2022’, Don Bosco College Tura on 13th October 2022 organised a lecture on ‘Investment: Pros and Cons’ for the students of the Commerce Stream. The lecture was delivered by Prof. K.C. Biswal, Head of the Department of Management, North Eastern Hill University, Tura campus, Tura who was appointed by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) as resource person.

The lecture raised awareness about the significance of investor education and protection and highlights the various initiatives undertaken by securities market regulator. Financial Education provides the basic life skill to build a secure financial future. ‘Proper financial knowledge can improve one’s ability to save for a long term financial needs and prevent from financial exigencies.’

It may be recalled that Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has been participating and celebrating World Investor Week throughout India under the aegis of IOSCO since 2017. SEBI is the national coordinator for India and various investor education and awareness activities. The investor programme conducted during World Investor Week 2022 was held in collaboration with Stock Exchanges, Depositories and AMFI. The programme at Don Bosco College, Tura on Thursday was one of its kinds of lectures organized all over the country.

The resource person enlightened the students on ‘how to control financial future’ and mentioned the opportunities and challenges the Indian Economy holds. The resource person also stresses on the ‘new emerging finance and investment trends in the country Post Covid-19.

The Principal of the college welcomed the resource person and the participants. The lecture was conducted to support the country for “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
