Students Tour to North Sikkim

Twenty Eight students and Two Lecturers of the college started for North Sikkim on the evening of 2nd October and reached Gangtok the next day. On the way to Gangtok, they had privileged to see one of the famous river ‘Teesta’ which connects the states of Sikkim and West Bengal. The students on arriving at Gangtok, visited MG Marg for sightseeing and for shopping.

 

The next day the students started their journey to North Sikkim and stayed in Lachen for the night. While on the journey to Lachen, wonderful opportunities were offered to the students to see the waterfalls and the beautiful mountain landscapes. The following day the students visited Gurudongmar Lake one of the famous lakes in the state of Sikkim.

The lake was really beautiful surrounded by snowcapped mountains. The students went around the lake and took photos. The next day the students proceeded to Lachung, North Sikkim to see Yamthang Valley and Zero point but due to heavy rainfall and landslides permission was not granted. On the same day the students returned to Gangtok and the next day back to Tura.

The students were indebted to the college and to the Chief Minister and the Deputy Commissioner Shri Swapnil Tembe for sponsoring the trip.
