Dept. of Economics organizes Dept. Seminar

The Department of Economics organized a seminar for the honours students of the department on 16.9.2022 in Bosco Hall at 1.00 pm. The seminar was inaugurated by Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim, Principal of the college. He spoke about the benefits of the seminar to the students.

The head of the department Prof. Siddhartha Roy in his speech encouraged the students and wished them luck. He also appreciated Prof. Brave Well Mawthoh and Prof. Koyel Roy for guiding  the students in the preparation of the papers. The seminar was aimed at acquainting the students with new areas of  knowledge and  updating them about  the latest technological developments, developing a sense of belonging, boosting a sense of  self confidence and team spirit.

The students of 1st, 3rd and 5th semester presented two papers each on the following topics:

Global Financial Crisis 2008

Great Depression of 1929.

Indian Economic Crisis of 1991.

Impact of Russia –Ukraine Crisis on the Economy.

Tourism in North East India.

Green Revolution in India.

At the end, Prof. Brave well Mawthoh appreciated the students for their informative presentation and thanked everyone for their hard work.

The seminar was a success and all the students participated with great enthusiasm.
