Centenary of the Arrival of the Salesians to NorthEast India Inter Class Basketball Tournament

The “Centenary of the Arrival of the Salesians to NorthEast Inter Class Basketball Tournament” concluded on 15^th September 2022. The matches which were held after the class hours saw 38 teams from the three streams. In the Boy’s Category the IIIrd Semester Section A won the championship while the BSc Vth Sem was the runners up. In the Girl’s Category, the BSc Vth Semester won the championship defeating the IIIrd Semester Section B girls by twenty baskets.

The Chief Guest at the concluding day, Shri Jasper K. Marak, (Retd.) Deputy Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya lauded the college for organizing the Inter Class Basketball Tournament and wished that the players shine in the District and the State levels too. He spoke also on the important of games and sports and invited all students to involve themselves in these activities.

The Principal, Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim welcomed the Chief Guest and said that the Chief Guest is so passionate about games and sports. He added that even after his retirement, he was seen playing football at the district level. He also organized games and sports for the youth. The Principal lauded the Sports and Games Committee of the college for organizing the Inter Class Basketball matches.

The Chief Guest handed over the medals and trophy to the winners and the runners up. He also handed the token of appreciation to the referees.
