Critical Race Theory (CRT) as Methodological Framework.
With racial differences still existing in our country and round the globe, the issue of racial differences and discrimination in social, political, cultural and gender based aspects is something to be concerned about. Maintaining the neutrality of racial differences in research works and discussing the viability of Critical Race Theory (CRT) as a method in research works was discussed in Mr. Sayan Dey's talk on "How to de-racialize research works? Critical Race Study (CRT) as a Methodological Framework " on 24th of August, 2022.
Various topics including cultural diversities, concept of prejudice in racial disparities, questioning racial and cultural position of both European and Indian cultures post colonization, and the viability of CRT in the Indian subcontinent compared to the US and other European countries were discussed in this interactive session and was a truly remarkable experience for the participants.
The department of English, Don Bosco College, Tura, was also one of the many participants who attended the live talk session organized by NEHU & CTEF- Meghalaya Chapter.
More than thirty students along with three teachers from the department of English attended this session.
