PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAN

The NCC Unit of Don Bosco College, Tura observed “PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAN” with the aim to conduct sustainable conservation and cleaning along the rivers, other water bodies and recycling the plastic or waste collected. Several programs were conducted during these 7 days such as Poster making Competition, Poetry writing Competition and Debate Competition related to cleanliness and maintenance of sea shores and other water bodies. Puneet Sagar Abhiyan was launched by NCC to clean Sea Shores/Beaches and other water bodies including rivers & lakes, of plastic & other waste and increase awareness amongst the local population about importance of keeping the beaches and river fronts clean. On 18th August 2022, a concluding program was organised were cadets were given opportunities to speak on topics related to Puneet Sagar Abhiyan. The program started with a welcome speech by Ms. Cherimchi T Sangma, CTO of senior wing. It was also attended by officials from Tura Municipal Board (TMB) and Principal of the college of the college. Mr. Stemson M. Sangma, official from TMB spoked about the importance of keeping water bodies clean and also the surroundings environment. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal of the college, welcome the officials from TMB and lauded the cadets for the contribution made by them in creating awareness about maintaining cleanliness of water bodies. Prizes were also distributed to cadets for the different competitions.  The program ended with words of gratitute by Mr. Brave Well Mawthoh, Caretaker Officer of senior division.
