DBC organizes seminar on Right to Information Act
The Department of Political Science, Don Bosco College, Tura on Friday 12th August 2022 organized a Seminar on the Right to Information on the theme “Relevance of the Right to Information Act, 2005” The Resource Person for the Seminar was Mrs Bernitha R. Marak, Advocate Tura and an alumnus of the College.
She highlighted on the Right to Information Act and explained to the participants the pros and cons of the Act. She also demonstrates to the participants the steps for filing the RTI.
Earlier to that, Shri Binendro N. Marak, the Head of the Department of Political Science welcomed the gathering and express pride that a student is now the resource person. He welcomed the resource person and the participants to the programme.
IQAC Coordinator of the College Dr Barbara S. Sangma who spoke on the occasion said that ‘in the information age, seeking information can really transform a person.’ She added that the seminar will add knowledge of the RTI Act to all the participants.
Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal highlighted on the opportunity given by the college to every student to be able to express oneself through taking part in various seminars organized by the college. He added that attending such seminar will help the students to work towards the progress of the society by being agent of information received from the government or individual persons.
