Pasch Experience Holy Week Retreat held at Siloam
A fourday Pascal Experience Holy Week Retreat was organized for the Salesian Catholic College Teachers in Siloam. The Associate Professors Dr. Barbara S Sangma and Sir Nicholas M Sangma together with six other Catholic Assistant Professors of Don Bosco College Tura represented the college and took part in the programme along with many other professors of different Salesian Colleges of various parts of Northeast India. St Anthony’s College Shillong, Don Bosco College Maram, Don Bosco College Kohima, Don Bosco College Darjeeling etc. were among the many participants at the Holy Week Programme.
The Associate and the Assistant Professors of Don Bosco College, set off for Siloam on 13th of April. Upon reaching to the destined place accommodation was taken care of and a beautiful cottage was provided to stay in. The Pascal Experience programme commenced on 14th of April with the observation of Maunday Thursday. The first day of the programme was packed with various activities, namely Inauguration of the programme, Sessions, Holy Mass and Adoration of the alter of repose etc.
The second day of the retreat started with the morning prayer. Thereafter, sessions by various priests commenced. Rev Father George, took up a session on ‘Reflection on the Holy Shroud’. This session was followed by Rev. Father Glen’s session where he talked about the ‘Seven Gifts from the Cross’. The sessions continued with Rev. Father G P’s talks on ‘The Passion of Jesus and its significance. Further in the programme, members of Music Ministry Daphi and Team took over the time for praise and worship. The scheduled programme continued with a visit to Ferrando School to observe and celebrate Good Friday. At Ferrando School celebration of Passion took place amongst the specially abled children of Ferrando Institution. The students enacted the Stations of the Cross beautifully through sign language.
Holy Saturday or the third day of the Pascal retreat consisted of Morning Reflection by Rev. Father Glen where he shared his teachings on Biblical Parable of Prodigal Son. The day’s sessions were continued with Rev. Father Devasia. He excellently spoke about different Bible passages and Christian beliefs. Later in the session Rev. Father Glen delivered his talks on ‘Unless the Grain of Wheat Dies: Grave Experience’ and conducted a little exercise on the aforementioned topic. This was followed by other sessions till the evening. The Holy Saturday programme moved on forward with candlelight service followed by Easter Vigil Holy Mass.
The Easter Sunday and the final day of the Pascal Retreat was rather kept short. The day commenced with Morning Glory and Praise by Daphi and Team. The Programme headed on with the session from Rev Father GP on Pascal Experience of Disciples. The next session was taken on Eucharistic Commissioning and Sending Forth, which was followed by Easter Sunday Holy Mass.
Hence, with the Holy Mass the four day long Pascal Experience Programme came to conclusion. After the joyful lunch shared with various institutions the participants from different colleges headed back to their respective places.
