Training on Corpus Resource Database
The IQAC-Don Bosco College, Tura organized a training for teachers on creating a corpus resource database on 30th March 2022. The Resource Person was Dr. Yubaraj Sharma, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physics and IQAC member. He explained that the Corpus Resource Database is the need of the time and will help the college access the information needed about the teachers as and when needed especially regarding Assessment and Accreditation work processes. The teachers were given a demo of feeding information that is generally required for AISHE and for NAAC. This repository of information will save huge amount of time spent on repeated physical data collection on a one-to-one basis.
Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal also highlighted the necessity for such a database for easy and convenient reference in the days to come. He also explained that this database is only for the purpose of NAAC and that the college shall safeguard the information provided by each and every teacher. The teachers are supportive of this move to pool in all the necessary personal information in a Corpus Resource Database. Dr. Arindham Ghosh, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physics and former IQAC Coordinator also spoke about the need to have a uniform information repository. The training ended with a word of appreciation from Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, Associate Professor in the Department of English and IQAC Coordinator.
