FIELD TRIP TO  GONDENGGRE VILLAGE

The Department of Garo conducted a Field Trip to observe and study the Garo traditional ritual of A.galmaka. The  B.A. 6th Semester Students, Garo Honours visited Gondenggre village on 19th of March 2022. The purpose of conducting this programme was to enriched the knowledge of student regarding the Garo traditional rituals and practices in connection with Jhum cultivation.

The total number of student present in the programme were 38 and four lecturers from the department.                                                                                                                                          

The A.galmaka ritual was performed by Shri Dinang Ch. Marak, a priest  from the village.

The ritual ceremony was started at 10:30 Am. and was completed at 1:00 Pm.  During that time students had some practical experience and interactions with the Priest ( Kamal). The Student have learned a lot from this programme.
