Online National Workshop on MOOCs

Online National Workshop on MOOCs, E-content and Open Educational Resources was conducted from 14th to 18th February 2022. Three educational institutions, namely Department of Education & Educational Technology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad- Telengana, Department of Education, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus, Tura- Meghalaya,

and  Don Bosco College, Tura, Meghalaya supported the State Bank of India, Tura, collaborated to plan and execute the above mentioned Workshop. About 250 teachers of Higher Education institutions and Research scholars from over 21 states and Union Territories of the country participated in this workshop.

The workshop addressed the greatly-felt need of advanced digital learning. The workshop underscored the fact that technology has progressed so much and the fact that education in general need to keep abreast of the technological developments. The Covid-19 Pandemic, along with few other factors have shaken the world and brought about the realization that the traditional method of education cannot continue. Change has come and it is here to stay. It is with this realization and in answer to the dire need of the teachers’ need to upgrade their skills in educational technology that the national workshop was organized.

                 The sessions in the workshop were handled by highly competent and knowledgeable educations, who were all experts in their own fields. 

 

The hands-on sessions were conducted on the following topics: “M aking effective Blended and Online Learning”, “Podcast”, “Making Concept Maps”,  Plagiarism, “Developing e-content for learners using various software & apps,” “Different collaborative & interactive digital tools” , “Hands on learning for E content Development”, “Open Education Resources”,  “Artificial Intelligence”, “Gamification”, “LMS: Moodle”,  “E-Assessment” and “Learning Analytics”

 

During the Inaugural Session, Prof. G. Singaiah, Campus-in-Charge, North-Eastern Hill University, Tura Campus-Tura and Chief Guest of that programme spoke about the great need to take help of technology at a larger scale. Rev. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Provincial-Guwahati Province was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Programme and he encouraged everyone to attend as many courses and sessions as feasible and learn from them. He appreciated that the workshop brought together some of the best brains of the country to deliver the best to the participants. He pointed out the generosity of the educationists to share their knowledge and the magnanimity to learn from each other.

The other dignitaries who spoke during the opening and closing programmes were Prof. C. Nongbri, Shri Dharmananda Banai, Dr. Madhusudhan J.V., Prof. Nikme Salse C. Momin and Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim.
