Annual College Week 2021 of Don Bosco College, Tura
The Annual College Week 2021 of Don Bosco College, Tura commence from 15th December to 17th December, 2021. The program was hosted by Dr. Mueller M. Sangma, Dept. of Education. The Chief Guest was welcomed by presenting bouquet, pandra and a memento. The opening ceremony was started off with a song, beautifully sung by the students of the college. The performance was followed by lighting of the cauldron. The Chief Guest of the programme, Shri Stephen A Rynjah, CO 2nd Battalion, Goeragre escorted by the principal did the honour of lighting the cauldron. This was followed by Oath taking ceremony wherein the captains and the vice captains of all the 8 houses came forward to take the pledge. The President of the SWA, Bulbul W. Momin led the oath taking. The Captains and the vice captains of various houses vowed to pay fair with a sportsmanship spirit. The oath taking ceremony was followed by planting of house flags by the house captains. The Principal, Rev. Fr Bivan Rodriques Mukhim delivered the welcome speech and applauded the efforts of the teachers and the students toward the college week programme. Dr. Barbara S. Sangma, Dept. of English gave an introduction on NAAC and the importance of assessment and accreditation of Higher Educational institution. In her speech, Dr Barbara mentions the role of NAAC in improving the quality of education through activities such as teacher’s assessment. Students from Margaret Bosco Hostel displayed their wonderful dance performance during the function. The Chief Guest Shri Stephen A Rynjah gave a speech in which he expressed his delight to be a part of opening and excitement to be apart of college week opening ceremony. He compliments and applaud the principal and the college in general for its discipline, and cleanliness. He tries to match the stress on how even the greatest was the beginner. He motivates the students by citing an example of great personalities such as Nelson Mandela, Jawaharlal Nehru, and APJ Abdul Kalam.
The speech by the Chief Guest was followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Shri Gaurav Das
Finally the opening ceremony came to an end with either the National anthem.
