Students get first hand training on Digital Library Updates.

For two days on 1st and 2nd October 2021 A user awareness programme was conducted by the NDLI club admins of the college to cater to the needs of students in regards to the accessibility of digital resources offered by National Digital Library of India which is maintained by IIT Kharagpur and supported by Ministry of Education, Government of India.

The program envisaged the importance of being able to have access to the vast repository of knowledge base at NDLI. In the Inaugural speech Fr Bivan R Mukhim, Principal, Don Bosco College appreciated the admins to have taken up the responsibility of conveying the information to the faculty and students of the college of how to explore the library facilities offered by NDLI, for their academic pursuit and growth. He also opined that this Library would strengthen the richness of the college library in terms of knowledge base in digital mode.

In the next session the students and faculty were given an insight of the advantages of the library and how to take part in the process of getting registered and thereby access the different types of study material in the form of text, video, animations, etc.

About 319 students and faculty from different streams have got themselves registered and out of that approx. 117 of them took part in the 1st user awareness session. The participants are expected to get a certificate of participation after the completion of the process of the program.

This 1st programme is expected to pave the way for the other students to avail the opportunity of this vast digital resource. The platform is an active one that it not only focusses on the knowledge base but also in its application. The NDLI platform is expected to provide the students space to express their curricular skills in the form of debate, extempore, quiz, one act plays, different cultural competitions and many more.

The admins now would sit to make a road map for other events in the future and try to bring in maximum number of college students under the ambit of the digital library.
