NSS Leadership Development Programme Concludes
A five-day 'Residential NSS Capacity Building of Youth on Leadership and Personality Development through Life Skills' programme concluded on 08th November 2019 at Don Bosco College, Tura.
Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, Sri Ram Singh IAS was the Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony and handed over the certificates to the participants. Regional Director, NSS Guwahati Sri Dipak Kumar grace the occasion with his presence.
In his message the Chief Guest Ram Singh lauded the effort of Don Bosco College to organise programmes that transform society. He said that the NSS programme has helped many college students become aware of their responsibilities to the society. He expressed that the NSS volunteers take more initiatives to bring change in Garo Hills. He insisted that a few NSS volunteer who dedicate their time and energy for the society can transform the entire Meghalaya. He wished that the volunteers through the skill training imparted on them during the last five days could make a difference.
Mr. Dipak Kumar, Regional Director of NSS in his speech wished that the youth of the Northeast become an asset to the society. He mentioned that the NSS Regional office wanted to decentralize programmes and so the programme for Meghalaya is held in Shillong, Tura and Jowai. He informed that the NSS Northeast Festival next year will be held in Garo Hills and Don Bosco College, Tura will be the host college for the festival.
The Principal of Don Bosco College, Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim welcome the guests and thanked the NSS volunteers for participating actively in all the sessions.
The NSS volunteers of Tura Government College presented the NSS theme song while the NSS volunteers from Captain Williamson College, Baghmara presented the welcome song.
