Annual Seminar - Department of Chemistry

Department of Chemistry, Don Bosco College, Tura organized the annual seminar on 10^th April 2018 at 10.30 AM at the Seminar Hall, Don Bosco College Teacher education. In the inaugural session Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim Principal, Don Bosco College, Tura addressed the whole gathering and applauded the initiative taken by the Department.

Mrs Carobina Sangma, District Science Supervisor, Govt of Meghalaya attended the function as a Special Guest and stressed the need of competition and this kind of exposure for all round development of the student. The daylong seminar was organized on the theme “Nurturing Chemistry in Garo Hills” just to acknowledge the contributions and efforts made by the teachers to cultivate Chemistry in this part of the country.

Twenty two students of sixth semester Chemistry Honours students presented on different topics from NEHU curriculum for undergraduate studies in Chemistry. It was an exciting experience for the students to present their work in front of the fellow students, teachers and other dignitaries. The students were evaluated on the basis of their presentation and ability to answer the questions by the panel. The entire degree Science students of Don Bosco College, Tura attended the seminar as participants. The concluding remark was put forward by Shri Dorang Dekamra M Sangma of fouth semester B.Sc. where he thanked the teachers and students for carrying forward the torch of Chemistry in the interiors of Garo Hills.
