The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) was held at the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) campus, Duragre, Tura, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya, from 7 to 16 February 2026 under the aegis of the 41 Meghalaya Battalion NCC. The camp brought together 550 cadets from across the state, including 60 cadets from the NCC Unit of Don Bosco College, Tura, several of whom appeared for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate Examinations.

Over the course of ten rigorous days, cadets engaged in intensive training that emphasized discipline, physical fitness, leadership, teamwork, and personality development. Beyond the training drills, they also showcased their individual and collective talents in a variety of competitions. The cadets of Don Bosco College, in particular, shone brightly. Corporal Wema Rimchey R. Marak earned the 1st prize in the Extempore Speech competition for the Senior Wing, while JUO Amit Hajong secured the 1st prize in the Firing competition under the Senior Division, reflecting both skill and focus.

Other cadets also achieved noteworthy success. Sergeant Manmera G. Momin brought home the 3rd prize in Drill Compilation, Cadet Jakchime K. Sangma won 3rd prize in Solo Dance, the Group Song team earned 3rd prize, and Cadet Rapidim Chachura S. Momin was awarded 3rd prize in Solo Song. These achievements highlighted the dedication, teamwork, and talent of the college’s NCC unit.

Earlier, during the Republic Day Celebration on 26 January 2026 at Tura, the NCC Boys’ Unit of Don Bosco College had won 1st prize in the March Past, while the Girls’ Unit claimed 2nd prize, an event graced by Thomas A. Sangma, Hon’ble Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.

Overall, the Combined Annual Training Camp offered an enriching experience that strengthened the cadets’ skills, leadership, and camaraderie. The remarkable accomplishments of the Don Bosco College NCC cadets, from winning competitions to demonstrating discipline and teamwork, stand as a proud testament to their commitment, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence.
