Surya Pahar

March 8, 2025, marked the beginning of an exhilarating journey as 48 students of the Department of History ( shift-I), Don Bosco College, Tura, embarked on an educational trip to Surya Pahar (the Sun God) in Assam. Accompanied by three lecturers and the Vice Principal, the group set off with great enthusiasm, eager to explore the archaeological sites and uncover the rich history of the region.

The aim of the trip was to inculcate in students the habit of study, foster a deeper understanding of historical contexts, and develop critical thinking skills. As we delved into the ruins of Surya Pahar, the group was struck by the sheer magnitude of the archaeological remains, which stood as a testament to the region's cultural and historical significance.
