Report on Parent-Teacher Interaction Meeting
22 February 2025
On 22 February 2025, the college hosted a Parent-Teacher Interaction Meeting for parents of morning shift students at Bosco Hall. The event, organized under the leadership of the Principal and Vice Principal, was well-attended and facilitated productive discussions on student development.
The meeting commenced with a prayer song by students, a short prayer and a welcome address. Assistant Prof. Nokme M Marak spoke first, addressing various important aspects of student life. She emphasized the need for regular attendance from the first day of classes, the importance of reading additional materials in the library, and the necessity of avoiding bunking classes. She urged parents to encourage their children to maintain consistent study habits at home and to take education seriously. She stressed the importance of never giving up on their children, offering continuous motivational support to help them stay focused on their goals.
Following Assistant Prof. Marak’s address, Prof. Thomas M Marak took the stage and delivered his talk, highlighting the four key pillars of education: Management, Teachers, Students, and Parents. He emphasized that strong leadership from Management ensures the institution’s success, while Teachers guide and mentor students to reach their potential. Students are the focus of the institution’s efforts, and Parents play a vital role in supporting their children’s education at home. Prof. Thomas concluded by stressing that these pillars must work together to foster academic success and personal growth.
The Management informed parents about upcoming initiatives, including new MA courses, hostels for boys and girls, CUET training programs, alertness about substance abuse and preventive measures, skill development courses and opportunity for multi-disciplinary learning, holiday packages etc. The library’s enhanced collection was also highlighted as an important resource for students.
Practical concerns regarding students' well-being were also addressed. Parents were reminded to provide only the necessary items for their children and to limit their spending to a reasonable amount. Excessive spending was cautioned against, as it could lead to the misuse or spoilage of resources, ultimately impacting their children's future and growth.
Parents expressed their commitment to supporting their children’s progress and appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with faculty. Concerns were raised regarding the supervision of students living in rented accommodations, particularly regarding financial responsibility and lack of local guardian who could follow them up closely.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, a photo session, and refreshments, fostering a sense of community between parents, faculty, and Management.
