Pre-Christmas Celebration at Don Bosco College, Tura – 20 December 2024
On 20 December 2024, the last day of the end semester examinations, Don Bosco College, Tura, held a joyful pre-Christmas celebration, bringing together 1300 students and faculty in a spirit of festive cheer and reflection. The event featured a beautifully prepared Christmas crib, symbolizing the birth of Jesus Christ and reminding everyone of the true meaning of the season.
The celebration included the singing of traditional Christmas carols, creating a vibrant atmosphere, followed by a scripture reading on the birth of Jesus. This provided a spiritual moment for all to reflect on the significance of Christmas.
Fr Januarius Sangma, Principal, addressed the gathering with a thoughtful message, emphasizing the importance of spiritual preparation for a meaningful Christmas. He encouraged the college community to focus on prayer and kindness, alongside external celebrations. He also made announcements regarding the holidays, college reopening, and the upcoming College Week, encouraging active participation in the events.
Fr. Januarius concluded by wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Christmas, filled with love and reflection, and a prosperous New Year. The celebration was a beautiful reminder of the values of compassion, peace, and faith during the holiday season. The celebration ended with snacks and the distribution of the college calendar for 2025.
