Geography Students Conduct Field Trip to Babadam Village, Assess Quality of Life.

On the 26th of April 2024, students from the 6th semester pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Geography (Honors) embarked on a field trip to Babadam Village. The 41 students engaged in a comprehensive survey aimed at evaluating the quality of life among the village's residents.

The primary objective of the survey was to gain insights into the current living conditions in Babadam Village and identify potential areas for future development and enhancement. Through hands-on fieldwork, the students applied their theoretical knowledge in geography to practical scenarios, honing their skills in socio-economic analysis and geographic data collection.

Assistant Professor Ksanbor Kharkongor who accompanied the students expressed the importance of such field trips in enriching students' understanding of real-world geographic challenges and solutions. He highlighted the significance of engaging with local communities to gather firsthand information and perspectives, essential for informed decision-making in geographical studies.

During the field trip, students interacted with villagers, conducted interviews, and surveyed various aspects such as infrastructure, environmental sustainability, economic activities, and social services. The data collected will be analyzed to generate a comprehensive report outlining the current state of Babadam Village and proposing recommendations for sustainable development initiatives.
