Don Bosco College History Department Explores Wadagokgre Archaeological Site.

In an educational expedition on 06th April 2024, 45 students and 2 faculty members from History Department embarked on a journey to the Wadagokgre Archaeological site, situated 8 kilometers from Phulbari. Accompanying them was a sense of curiosity and a thirst for historical knowledge.

The Wadagokgre Archaeological site, excavated by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in 1992, holds the secrets of an ancient kingdom dating back to 4-8 AD. Spanning over 20 square kilometers, this historic town boasts a rich tapestry of excavated buildings and ruins, offering a glimpse into the past.

Among the remarkable discoveries at the site are a Buddhist Stupa, a temple constructed with burnt brick, fortified walls showcasing the town's defenses, and intriguing "Shiv Lings" symbolizing ancient religious practices.

The expedition proved to be a profound learning experience for the students and faculty, shedding light on the region's cultural heritage and historical significance. Such initiatives foster a deeper appreciation for history and archaeology among the academic community, paving the way for future explorations and discoveries.

The students also visited the MeghFarm Processing Hub, Tikrikilla.
