Two students won laurel at the District Youth Parliament

Four students of the college participated in the District Youth Parliament held at Durama College, Tura on 28th January 2019. The District Youth Parliament was organised by the NSS, Durama College Tura on its premises under the National Youth Parliament, 2019 organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The purpose of the youth parliament was to allow the youth from between the ages of 18 to 25 years a platform to view their opinions on the topics- India sets Global Narratives on Terrorism, India sets Global Narratives on Economic Offenders, India sets Global Narratives on Climate Change, Khelo India: A gateway for Budding Sportspersons and Best time for India’s sportspersons to make a mark.

The programme which was organised both for West Garo Hills and South Garo Hills districts was inaugurated by the Principal of the host college, Shri. J K Marak. A total of 19 participants from various educational institutions from the two districts participated in the youth parliament Shri. Dorang Dekamra M. Sangma – VI Semester BSc of the college won the second prize and Shri Chanangbil D. Marak – VI Semester BA won the third prize. The two students of the college will now take part in the State Youth Parliament to be held at NEHU, Shillong on February 7.
