Public Awareness Programme on Road Safety
Alumni Association, Don Bosco College, Tura along with the IQAC, Don Bosco College, Tura organized a Public Awareness Programme on Road Safety on 12th of September, 2019 in the conference hall of the college. There were three Resource Persons from the Tura Traffic Branch. About two hundred students from B.A. first semester attended the programme. The words of welcome were presented by Prof. Susan M Sangma, Convenor, Alumni Association, Don Bosco College Tura. At the end of the welcome speech, Fr Albinus Dhanwar, Vice Principal, Don Bosco College, Tura welcomed the Resource Persons with Garo mufflers.
Mr. Netra Rai, Incharge Traffic Branch Tura talked about the do and don’ts to be followed while driving. He also explained the process to get a driving licence, talked about the common traffic signs and explained the rules and fines for defaulters especially under-age driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. He also explained the importance of wearing a helmet. Mr Brainedy D Sangma, ABSI, Tura Traffic Branch explained the same in the local language and Mr. Kejinberth Sangma, Constable showed the traffic signs followed by traffic police. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Arindam Ghosh, IQAC Coordinator, Don Bosco College, Tura. The Resource Persons were handed over college mementos as a mark of appreciation. A group photograph was taken at the end of the programme. The programme was arranged by an alumni of the college and the present DSP of West Garo Hills District Shri John Clitzer A Sangma.
