NCC Brigadier and Colonels visited DBC
Brigadier P.M. Bali, Group Commandant NCC along with Colonel Daljit Singh, Commanding Officer 2 Meghalaya Battalion NCC and Colonel Hemant Saroch, Commanding Officer 61 Meghalaya Girls’ NCC interacted with the students of Don Bosco College and other school students who attended the programme on 5th March 2019. Present for the programme were also Mr. Terence D. Marak, Principal of Tura Government College, Mr P. Ryngksai Addl. Director School Education and Literacy and In-charge District School Education Officer, Tura, Mr. John Clitzer A. Sangma, DSP West Garo Hills and other head of school of Garo Hills.
The college community welcomed the NCC personnel in the college Amphitheatre. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, Principal Don Bosco College, Tura welcomed the gathering. The objective of the programme was to strengthen NCC activities in the five districts of Garo Hills. Later the NCC personnel met the heads of institutions and representatives and spoke on the need to strengthen NCC in Garo Hills and planned programmes for the same.
Speaking on the occasion Brig. P.M. Bali said that the Government of Meghalaya fully support the NCC programme in the state. He also mentioned that taking forward NCC activities in Garo Hills is very important as it helps students to get into the armed forces. He said that NCC is the biggest uniformed organization in the world. “Each one should be proud to be a NCC volunteer and to serve the nation,” he added.
Later Brigadier P.M. Bali and Colonel Daljit Singh spoke to the NCC cadets of Don Bosco College and other schools and motivated them regarding the various programmes of the NCC. Earlier Brigadier P.M. Bali inaugurated the NCC and NSS office at Don Bosco College.
