Inauguration of the Academic Session 2019-2020

The Academic Session 2019-2020 of Don Bosco College was inaugurated on 08 July 2019. Prof Nikme S C Momin, Head Department of Education, NEHU Tura campus was the Chief Guest. Fr. Januarius S. Sangma SDB, Provincial Salesian Province of Guwahati and Fr. Charles Ch. Sangma, Provincial Council member and Province Delegate in charge of Garo Hills were the Guests of Honour. Others who were present for the inaugural function were Fr. Zacharias Varickaserril, Principal Don Bosco College of Teacher Education, Fr. Albinus Dhanwar, Vice Principal Don Bosco College, Tura the staff and the students.

Principal Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim SDB welcomed the guests and gave the report of the last academic year. He wished the new students to give more times to their studies and come out with flying colours. The Chief Guest spoke on using the head, heart and feelings in learning. She implored the students to use the time well to study and become someone in the society. She added that the students need to constantly thank God for guiding them through the course of their lives.

Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Provincial wished the students to give their best to their studies. He said that he wanted the students to succeed and that as the chairman of the college he extends full support to the principal and the teaching faculty. He expressed gratitude to the principal and the team of dedicated teachers for taking forwards the mission and vision of the college. Fr. Charles Sangma spoke of the beginning years of the college and said that those days were days of struggle and he is happy to see that the college is improving and moving forward. He asked the students to start from the beginning in giving the best to their studies.

The students performed a prayer dance, cultural dance and sang on the occasion. Prof Rani Aruldass proposed the vote of thanks.
