DBC Tura students won laurels at StartUp India Meghalaya
Four students of Don Bosco College, Tura Naman Chettri, Koyal Saha, Bishnu Kant Panthi and Varsha Joshi won laurels for Garo Hills and the college by winning prizes during the start-up India organized by the Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Government of Meghalaya and Invest India at IIM, Shillong on 22 – 23 February 2019.
The four were selected to represent Garo Hills during the Boot Camp by StartUp India Meghalaya Yatra held at Tura Government College on 20 February 2019.
Koyal Saha and Bishnu Kant Panthi presented the idea of starting business and expanding it to the entire country by coming up with their own brand. The fourth semester students of the college Koyal and Bishnu Kant jointly started their business while studying in the college. They stood fourth among the top five finalists.
Naman Chettri, a fourth semester B.Sc student presented the idea of organic farming for sustainable living. At present he has developed a solution ‘farganic’ a component for fertilizer and pesticide. He has started earning while studying in the college through sales of the farm solution.
Varsha Joshi a fourth semester B.Com student presented the idea of online food delivery ‘foodiemood’.
