DBC Tura flagged off Poll Volunteers

 

Principal Don Bosco College, Tura Fr. Bivan R. Mukhim flagged off the poll volunteers on 9th April 2019 at the College campus. The poll volunteers consisting mostly of NSS volunteers from Don Bosco College, Tura Government College, ICFAI University and Durama College and Scout and Guide Movement, Meghalaya will help and assist voters during the day of voting.

This is the first time that poll volunteers are being deployed to help and assist the voters.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal congratulated the students for their willingness to be poll volunteers. He asked them to render assistance especially to the sick and the elderly. He also reminded the volunteers to only help the voters and not to canvass. “You should not ask anyone to vote for a particular political party or a particular candidate,” he said.

The Principal congratulated the West Garo Hills District Administration and all the officials who worked hard to prepare for the forthcoming election in Meghalaya.

After the flagging off programme, the Poll Volunteers had a rally from Don Bosco College to Chandmari junction to create awareness on ethical voting.
