College organises Parents’ Meet 2019

About fifty parents of the Arts, Science and Commerce students took part in the Parents’ Meet on 13th April 2019. The meeting was called to briefed parents about the college and the performance of their ward.

The meeting began with a prayer by Prof Rubitha A. Sangma. Prof. Mueller Beul M. Sangma shared the responsibilities of the parents towards the growth of the children and said that students who are being followed by their parents in studies tend to perform better than those whom the parents don’t care about.

Prof Habul Das, IQAC Coordinator welcomed the parents and presented the overall programme of the college especially the NAAC preparation. Prof. Siddhartha Roy, HOD Economics, Prof Biswajit Paul, HOD Zoology, Prof K. Mahimaraj, HOD Commerce shared about the department. They projected the strengths and weaknesses of the department and asked the parents to be instrumental in helping the students.

Principal Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim presented the overview of the college. He presented the strengths, weaknesses and challenges of the college. He said that attendance of the students is a real challenge.

The principal thanked the parents for the trust and confidence placed on the college. He also added that the college is doing its best to give the best to the students studying in the college.

He assured the parents that their wards are in safe hands and that the management and the professors are giving the best to the students.  He implored the parents to see that the students come regularly to the college and that they have good attendance.

During the question hours many parents shared good opinions about the college. A Parents Association was started during the meetings and office bearers were formed to keep the association functioning. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by one of the parents Mr. Subir Ghosh. During the programme, tea was served to all the parents.
