College celebrates National Science Day 2018
Don Bosco College, Tura celebrated National Science Day on 23rd February-2018 with great enthusiasm and Spirit. The celebration Date was preponed due to election of State Legislative assembly announced on 27th February-2018. In the inaugural session the gathering of about 300 students were welcomed by Dr. Madhusudhan Saha, coordinator of the programme who highlighted the significance of the National Science Day celebration with technologies based on renewable resources as the theme of this year celebration is Science and Technology for sustainable future. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, Principal of the college highlighted the life and contribution of Sir C.V. Raman towards the development of Scientific culture in the country. Dr. Biswajit Paul of Zoology Department presented the Keynote address. Prof. J.De, HOD also spoke on the occasion. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Popy Dey. In the Technical Session there was a power point presentation on Raman Spectroscopy and Sir C.V. Raman by Dr. Yubraj Sharma and Prof. Mahidar Rajbonghi, Open House Quiz by Dr. Madhusudhan Saha, Human Calendar demonstration by Prof. Habul Das in addition to Poster and Extempore Competition for the students. Later at the end of the programme trophies and certificates were presented to the winners. The students were very happy and expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the organisers.
