Celebration of National Science Day-2019 Organised by Department of Chemistry, Don Bosco College, Tura
Don Bosco College, Tura celebrated National Science Day on 28th February-2019 with great enthusiasm and Spirit. The inauguration of the programme took place in the College assembly in a gathering of about 1500 students, where Dr. Madhusudhan Saha coordinator of the programme highlighted the significance of the National Science Day celebration with the theme of 2019 “Science for the people and the people for Science” The Inaugural Session followed by Seminar at Bosco Hall, where Prof. Rani Aruldas hosted the day long programme. Prof Habul Das welcomed all the Science professors and students with his heart touching speech and urged the student community to go back home with some positive learning from the programme. It was followed by a melodious and meaningful opening song presented by the B.Sc 4th semester students. Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim, SDB, Principal of the college in his message appreciated the Science faculties of the college for their contribution and highlighted the life and contribution of Sir C.V. Raman towards the development of Scientific culture in the country. The programme includes presentation on Sir C.V. Raman and Raman Spectroscopy by Dr. Arindam Ghosh, Humen Calender presentation by Prof. Habul Das, Top Science News and Quiz Competition by Dr. Madhusudhan Saha. Rev. Students of B.Sc. 4th Semester presented a Skit on Life and works of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Dr. Biswajit Paul of Zoology Department presented the Concluding remark. Prof. J.De, HOD proposed the vote of thanks. Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners. The students were very happy and expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the organisers. Later at the end of the programme the professors and the students together sang the National Anthem.
